S1Ep50 (Lava Lamp Onezay)

February 17, 2018  (Lava Lamp Onezay)

Hosts: DC PauL, Oshun, Martin "Bats" Bradford, & J. Steel

Engineer: DJ Mastermind

Producer: Brian Egland

Guests:  Jade Booker & John Lacarbiere III

Topics: A wave of black culture has spread across the nation.  The receipts say you saw it, but the videos, pictures, and social media posts say that you've experienced Black Panther.  Thanks to Juan LaFonta, DC Paul and TheMisBelief Crew experienced Black Panther too at the red carpet premiere held at the AMC Elmwood Theater.  The people shut the Elmwood Theater zown!  They came out in their all black attire, African attire, cosplay attire, young people, old people, all the kids, the line to get in started long and only got longer, and the red carpet drew in celebrities and public figures like Big Freedia, Dee-1, Mia X, and City Council Person Cindi Nguyen.  Tune into this episode of TheMisBelief RadioShow and hear all about DC Paul and TheCoHosts' expeirence to Wakanda!

We are first joined by Jade Booker of Crowns Corporation JB. The organization, geared towards under privileged youth, plans activities and events with the goal of giving the kids something to do and getting them off the street. Crown Corporation JB is inspired by Jade's own childhood experience of not being able to afford extracurricular activities and feeling like that was a setback for her adult life.  Her mission now is for kids to know they can do whatever they want to do, but they have to work hard at it.

Off the hills of a video gone viral, John Lacarbiere III joins DC and TheCoHosts to discuss what had happened actually in the video, how he is using the attention from it to benefit something positive in New Orleans, and his sex positive brand that includes books, music, and live shows.

We run it about the misbelief radio show becoming a weekday lounge Monday through Friday 7-8pm, DC opening up for Ledisi with Sheryl Lee Ralph and Anthony Mackie in the audience, Winn Dixie going bankrupt and  closing 200 stores, Vietnamese restaurants being a staple in the community, and a whole lot more of wuts going on out chere, a sankofa session in honor of Arthur “Mr. Okra” Robinson , and #thatactorguy Mister Bats is slapping the Dat Neck this week from the front and back.
